Our first trip together was in April 2006 when we flew with our friend, Dawna, to Washington, D.C. for some musical theatre fun as well as to take engagement photos. Shaunna loves Scott Bakula and when she found out he was appearing in the musical, Shanendoah, at the Ford Theatre in D.C., well, we had to go. We begged Dawna to go with us as our chaperone and photographer. We had a great time and took lots of photos including one at the stage door with Scott Bakula himself.
Our first stop was the National Cathedral which was beautiful in the spring and a great location for lots of poising and photography. Then we went to dinner around the corner from the theatre before the show and during dinner I went to the restroom. On my way I saw this woman who looked very familiar but I couldn't place her until later when I realized it was Scott Bakula's wife. When I got back to the table, I told my sister that I had seen Scott Bakula's wife and she bested me with "We just saw Scott Bakula and his wife leaving the restaurant." Man, so close. Oh well, we got to see him in the show and afterwards at the stage door. He is such a patient and kind man.
We had a great time visiting George Washington's home at Mount Vernon and walking all over the mall over the next couple of days.
